so ive been in vancouver for over a month now. and im loving it going home is gonna be hard! ive met so many interesting ppl and im finally back working in a kitchen! so far im working as a pastry chef in a brand new resturant that opens its doors tuesday, we have alread lost 2 staff plus a head chef interesting to say the least but quite stressful at times. i dont know about other chefs out there but when i create a dish i want to have time to test it and play around with the plating well i havent had any time for that yet and we open in 2 days for a booked out dry run! it might be a slap in on the plate job! eeeekkkk. so anyways vancouver well i dont mind the rain but when its sunny its beautiful and everyone else seems to think so too cause when the sun comes out here ppl dress like its 40 degrees when really its only 15. im still adjusting to the temp change i just gotta stop being a wus and get over it. ive met a few crazys while in van it just so happens that i rented rooms off two diffrents crazys this has made me become more scared to live in shared housing but i finally found a home with no crazys yipppee!! ive seen my fare share of the wild life now too raccoons skunks and squirrels they r so cute. everytime we go somewhere to eat in van there are always burgers on the menu ive been in search for the best burger so far my fav is a local fast food store called A N W but ive tried wendys mcdonalds(not the same as australian mcdonalds trust me) dennys and a few local pubs i think im going to set my self goals on finding the best cheapest food to eat in vancouver and blog about it hmmm ….. any hints on where to start?

So when i first arrived in vancouver i was completely in shock one because i had finally made it here and two i is beautiful! After my taxi took me to the wrong hostel another taxi latter and i was at the right one! The hostel was ok it gave me the chance to meet other travellers! I found a place near commercial drive a week latter i lasted a total 2 days before i had to get out of that crazy place lets just say i must attract crazy ppl. I found another place in lynn valley its a nice house im glad i found somewhere near the woods!! Well the big news is that i got a job as a head pastry chef in a brand new restaurant this will be my first head chef position!

so this weeks it all about lasts of everything. last day at work, last chance to see friends , last chance to see family, last adelaide bout. but tonight was my last training with the mcrg refs. now mcrg are going through there ref intake at the moment so it was really good to see a few new faces and meet some up and coming derby stars but seeing these refs in training got me thinking of what it was like when i was a freshy. i remember mostly that i totally sucked at skating i hadnt been on skates since i was a kids and finding my balance was really hard. i fell over in the first 5 minutes of warm up made me feel worse but the other roller girls incouraged me to keep going. there was one of our trainers that i admired most that was “rouge slayer” 1, she scared the shit out of me covered in tats and hardly spoke. 2, she can skate like she was born doing it. rouge is one of me team members now and love her to pieces she doesnt scare me anymore lol,but that also made me think do i scare the freshys now??

its funny how things work out i leave for canada in 2 days and ill soon become a freshy again will i have all the same feeling as i had back in the day???

So i move across waters to a foreign land next week probably the most challenging thing ive ever done. I dont know anyone i dont know where to go and how to use there weird looking money they have a 25 cent coin now thats plain awesome! But the one thing im totally scared about is getting home sick, i have such awesome friends and family that it makes it really hard to leave without tears!! I know i know ill be coming back but hey its sad !! So 7 more days and counting
